Just some late night practice. I enjoy using this odd turquise paint in the maries standard set. Many chinese standard colours are quite distinct and make paintings hold the colour theme of Chinese Art because of this. Its an odd thing. The west seem to use standard spectrums at set intervals, the Chinese seem to have used their resources and from that you mix the colours inbetween. The European kingfisher (alcedo atthis) is a bird of the waterside, since it feeds entirely upon aquatic animals. It has regular perches or stands from which it fishes. I was able to get unusually close to a Kingfisher with my camera in video mod, the other day. This shy bird, normally is very reluctant to sit still in human presence for more than a few seconds. I was naturally delighted that this bird gave me more than one full minute to video. As there were other singing birds around I had natural bird music readily available and the mannerisms of this kingfisher was totally remarkable. It looked as though it was pondering about its own rapidly diminishing breed which was made world famous by that brilliant business man Mr Vijay Mallya of United Breweries and its flagship beer, the kingfisher.
