Bird lovers should pack their binoculars and head to the Top End of Australias Northern Territory. While the sheer number and variety of birds that inhabit the Northern Territory make it a unique birdwatching destination, it is its rare species that make it truly special. The NT currently boasts four endemic species of birds including the White-Lined Honeyeater, the White-throated Grass Wren, and the Chestnut-quilled Rock Pigeon Comprising such diverse environments as woodlands, monsoon forests; sandstone country and floodplains, wetlands and billabongs, its hardly surprising that the region is home to over four hundred bird species - many in plentiful numbers. See herons, egrets, magpie...

Mom loves birds! We both became birdwatching addicts this spring when our usual haunts came alive with intense bird activities. Whether at home watching out the kitchen windows, driving through city streets, or at our many favorite park areas, Mom is always pointing out birds...their songs, flight, and antics. We have bird charts and books, but she doesn't remember their names. At least where the outdoors is concerned, this quickens her reaction time and sharpens her senses.

My first birdwatching video created to show an up-close look at some birds that many people don't get to see. A small, consumer-grade Canon miniDV camcorder was used to capture footage. The quality isn't great, but its good enough to get a detailed look at the birds in the video. More videos will follow showing other birds that we watch on a regular basis. There are quite a few to see!

I just started this new hobby of backyard bird watching. Right now I am learning the tricks of the trade. I have not been able to attract many fancy or colorful birds yet, but Cardinals and Blue Jays do visit my bird garden. I shall upload more bird watching videos soon. The main purpose of this video for me is to find out how .FLV videos look in YouTube's player. This is my first .FLV video in YouTube. I have plans to experiment with other file formats in the future.
