I was able to get unusually close to a Kingfisher with my camera in video mod, the other day. This shy bird, normally is very reluctant to sit still in human presence for more than a few seconds. I was naturally delighted that this bird gave me more than one full minute to video. As there were other singing birds around I had natural bird music readily available and the mannerisms of this kingfisher was totally remarkable. It looked as though it was pondering about its own rapidly diminishing breed which was made world famous by that brilliant business man Mr Vijay Mallya of United Breweries and its flagship beer, the kingfisher. Perhaps Mr Mallya would be kind enough to offer this kingfisher a place in Bangalore Royal Challengers so that it can survive !
